A woman in Moscow caused a seven-hour flight delay after demanding that she be allowed to disembark the plane and seek an immediate divorce from her husband.

Despite efforts by the crew members to persuade the woman to remain on board, she reportedly insisted that she had to leave the flight just before take-off.

Following Russian air safety procedures, all 500 passengers and crew were evacuated from the flight.

According to witnesses, the unnamed woman, who is understood to be Russian, repeatedly said: “I am not in the mood to fly now.”

One passenger wrote on Instagram that she was told by a flight attendant: “A woman aged 40 made a decision to divorce her husband. Urgently! And she needed to walk off the plane.

"Cabin crew tried in vain to persuade her not to leave the aircraft because this is a long procedure.”

It is not known whether the woman’s husband was also aboard the plane at the time she made her decision.

The incident took place at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport on Monday aboard a Rossiya Airline flight.
