Video: Shameless crooks tunnel into ATM

Raiders who stole thousands of pounds in Manchester by tunnelling under a cash machine echoed a forthcoming storyline from TV's 'Shameless'.

Producers of the Channel 4 show have revealed that the same plot is to feature during the current series. Thieves escaped with £6,000 (€7,200) after digging a 100ft tunnel to access the cashpoint.

The leader of a team of adventurers said he hoped Captain Scott was looking down and smiling as they played a game of "extreme" cricket at the South Pole to mark the 100th anniversary of his arrival there.
