True sole mates

The man with the world's largest feet has found his sole mate. At 1ft 3in-long, Brahim Takioullah's feet are recognised by Guinness World Records as the biggest out there, four times larger than those of 19-year-old Jyoti Amge, the world's smallest woman.

Ms Amge, who is 2ft tall and from Nagpar in India, has feet measuring 3.72 inches, which look tiny compared with those of the Moroccan.

GAGA FOR THE ACCORDION

Pop hits made famous by Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have topped the classical charts.

They are among the tracks on an album by 'Lithuania's Got Talent' winner Martynas Levickis who has become the first accordionist to have a number one in the classical album charts.

'SPIT-TACULAR' WINNER

Matt "BB Gun" Krause has won his first International Cherry Pit Spitting Championship in Michigan in the US.

Krause (23) was crowned the most "spit-tacular" competitor at the event held at Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm. His father Rick and brother Brian had won 24 of the 39 previous championships.

SOLAR-POWERED PLANE

A solar-powered aircraft has completed a history-making flight from Dulles International Airport in Washington, landing at New York's JFK Airport.

The aircraft, powered by 11,000 solar cells, soars to 30,000 feet while poking along at a top speed of 45mph. The Solar Impulse left San Francisco in May and has made stopovers in Phoenix, Dallas-Fort Worth, St Louis, Cincinnati and Dulles.

RETURN OF THE STONES

The Rolling Stones have returned to London's Hyde Park in London – after a gap of 44 years and one day.

Mick Jagger, who will be celebrating his 70th birthday in three weeks, launched straight into 'Start Me Up', the band's last top 10 hit.

FAKE CASH RING BUSTED

Gaza's Hamas authorities say they have broken up a counterfeiting ring that had printed millions of euro worth of fake money.

A police spokesman said that authorities uncovered the ring last week when they traced a man trying to distribute a counterfeit 100 shekel bill.
