Spirited buyer wanted for lodge

The neighbours are quiet and it is in the dead centre of town.

But you had better not be scared of ghosts if you decide to bid for the 150-year-old St James's Cemetery Lodge, which is being sold by Bath & North East Somerset Council. The two-bedroom Victorian house has one of the most peaceful back gardens in England as it borders St James's Cemetery in Bath.

Explosive find at house clearance

A number of families were forced to evacuate their homes after a grenade was discovered during a house clearance.

Army bomb disposal experts were scrambled to the scene after the device, thought to date back to World War Two, was found at the property in Dudley, England.

Smashed guitar under the hammer

The remnants of a smashed bass guitar from Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' video are to be sold for up to £25,000 (€31,000).

The band's Krist Novoselic bought the Zen-On bass from a pawn shop prior to the 1991 video shoot knowing he would bash it to pieces during filming. It will be sold by Christie's in London on November 29 at a memorabilia auction which also includes Indiana Jones's whip and the Holy Grail used in the 'Last Crusade' film.

Hiker plunges to death in bee attack

A hiker fell to his death off a cliff in Arizona after being attacked by a swarm of bees.

Two other hikers were led to safety by firefighters in protective clothing after the tragedy on Camelback Mountain, and both were treated for bee stings.

Officer guns down rampaging boar

Four people, including a police officer, have been injured in an attack by a wild boar in Berlin.

The 19-stone animal was killed after it bit a 74-year-old man, knocked over a 74-year-old woman, then attacked a 24-year-old woman and a policeman called to the scene before he shot it dead.

Bond star signs up for Clooney film

James Bond star Daniel Craig and 'Downton Abbey' actor Hugh Bonneville have been signed up by George Clooney to appear in his new World War Two film.

Clooney will direct and co-produce 'The Monuments Men', as well as star in it alongside the British stars and a number of major Hollywood names. The film charts the final chapter of Germany's rule in Europe.
