'Sex' abuse of power

Police have arrested a Bolivian politician who security cameras caught having what appeared to be sex with a drunk and possibly unconscious woman.

Domingo Alcibia fled after the video was shown on TV and uploaded on YouTube, but was arrested near Sucre, the capital of Chuquisaca province. Mr Alcibia faces charges of abuse of power, but is not being prosecuted for sexual assault as the woman did not file a complaint.

Muamba's baby joy

Fabrice Muamba and his wife Shauna have revealed they are expecting their second child, less than a year after the former footballer almost died on the pitch.

The couple, who married in October, already have a four-year-old son, Joshua, and are due to become parents again in June. Mrs Muamba wrote on Twitter: "Thanks for all the lovely well wishes . . . We've been so blessed and can't wait to meet our new baby."

£8m of cocaine seized

One of the biggest seizures of liquid cocaine has been made after the drug was detected in juice tins at Gatwick Airport, the UK Border Agency said.

The drug was found hidden in tins marked as carrot juice that were flown in from Jamaica on January 14. Around 80kg of liquid cocaine was found which could have a street value of around £8m (€9.5m). Police tracked the drugs to south London and made five arrests.

Tunnel cheese melt

A road tunnel in Norway will be shut for several weeks after a 27-tonne truckload of goat's milk cheese caught fire.

Flames engulfed the tunnel last week and gases from the melting load hindered firefighters. It took four days to put out. The cheese, a sweet delicacy with a high sugar and fat content, is an essential part of many Norwegians' daily diet.
