Seven monkeys stolen from zoo

SEVEN monkeys have been stolen from their cage at a zoo in Poland for possible sale on the black market.

The Emperor tamarin monkeys -- a family of two adults and five of their offspring -- were reported missing from the Opole Zoo when employees found someone had broken into their enclosure.

Window clean ban after maid deaths

SINGAPORE has tightened rules on window cleaning after nine maids fell to their deaths this year from high-rise apartments.

The Manpower Ministry said maids were no longer allowed to clean the outside of windows unless they were supervised. The ministry said seven of this year's nine maid deaths were due to dangerous window cleaning or hanging of laundry.

Swearing hardest habit to break

SWEARING is the most difficult habit to break, beating the likes of drinking too much caffeine, smoking, and chewing fingernails, according to a poll.

More than a quarter (26pc) of the 600 people questioned said that using too many expletives in conversations was their biggest vice. Drinking too much caffeine came second.

Pot smoker leaves baby on car roof

A MARIJUANA-smoking woman was arrested in Phoenix, Arizona, after she accidentally drove away with her five-week-old son in a child safety seat on the roof of her vehicle, police said.

The baby fell off the car in the middle of an intersection and was found unharmed and strapped into the seat, police said.

Drew ties knot number three

ACTRESS Drew Barrymore has tied the knot for the third time, marrying her art dealer fiance Will Kopelman in Southern California.

The 'Charlie's Angels' actress (37) wed Mr Kopelman on Saturday in a Jewish ceremony, with guests including Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz.

Made in China -- an Austrian village

A $940m (€752m) Chinese clone of one of Austria's most picturesque villages, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Hallstatt, has opened in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong.

The "made in China" version of the famous lakeside village includes an exact replica of its church clock tower and wooden houses, which will be sold to investors.
