Serial killer's relative in copycat murder
MATTHEW Milat, a relation of the Australian backpacker killer Ivan Milat, has been jailed for 43 years for the copycat murder of a teenager.
Milat murdered his friend, David Auchterlonie, with an axe after luring him to the same forest south-west of Sydney where his great uncle killed seven backpackers in the 1990s.
Milat (19) and an accomplice, Cohen Klein, and a third friend, Chase Day, who has not been charged, persuaded David to go to Belanglo forest with the promise of smoking cannabis and drinking to celebrate the victim's 17th birthday in 2010. Klein was jailed for 32 years.
