WATCH: Miami nightclub's licence revoked after horse stunt goes wrong Newsdesk Newsdesk

A Miami nightclub has lost its licence after a video of a white horse in the premises circulated online.

The Mokai Lounge in South Beach has come under heavy criticism due to the video, which shows a woman in lingerie riding it close to the dancefloor.

At one point, the horse seems to become frightened and knocks the woman off its back, while some revellers can be heard screaming at the agitated animal.

Miami Beach city manager Jimmy L. Morales said the incident should never have happened.

"I was disgusted and offended that any legitimate businessperson would think this was an appropriate action to take.

"This activity was not permitted, and as soon as we became aware, I immediately instructed staff to act swiftly in remedying this situation."

The video appears to mimic the famous photo of Bianca Jagger on top of a white horse in the now-closed New York nightclub Studio 54.

Miami Beach Police are investigating the incident. The Mokai Lounge management has yet to comment on the controversy.
