A dramatic video uploaded to Facebook shows the moment a driver collides with a cyclist in an alleged hit-and-run collision in Tennessee.

Cyclist Tyler Noe was sent tumbling to the ground and sustained "serious but non-life threatening injuries", according to officials.

A black Volvo can be seen clipping the cyclist on the Natchez Trace Parkway, a designated bicycle route.

The driver was arrested following the incident on Saturday and faces charges including reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident.

He has also been placed on a leave of absence from his employer while they investigate the circumstances.

The video filmed on a GoPro by Tyler’s friend, Greg Goodman, quickly gained over 1,000,000 views on Facebook.

"Tyler is at the hospital and doing ok. He is one TOUGH DUDE!" the post read.
