Watch: Four-year-old girl's narrow escape after drive-by shooters target wrong shop
A four-year-old girl had a narrow escape after drive-by shooters indiscriminately opened fire on a barber shop.
Footage, released by the Arizona Police Department, shows the little girl playing in the shop before sitting on a seat in front of a window.
Two bullets were shot at head level narrowly missing her and sending her running in panic.
The youngster was struck by shattered glass and taken to hospital. Police said her injuries were not life threatening.
She reportedly suffered small cuts on her face.
It has since emerged that the barber shop, in Chandler, was not the intended target of the shooting.
Police say that suspects Michael David Hart (23) and Rafael Santos (21) had earlier had a verbal dispute with a tattoo artist at an adjacent tattoo shop.
Police said: "After leaving the tattoo parlor, Hart, Santos, and the unidentified male entered a vehicle. As this vehicle began to drive away, Hart allegedly fired at least three rounds from a firearm, in the direction of Damaged Ink Tattoo.
"Instead of striking the tattoo parlor, the rounds struck the Paisanos Barber Shop located next door. Two of the rounds struck the front window of the barber shop, narrowly missing a four-year-old girl who was watching television."
Mr Hart and Mr Santos were later arrested.
