Van driver fired for 'deliberately splashing pedestrians'

A van driver filmed apparently deliberately splashing pedestrians has been fired.

The driver was recorded near the University of Ottawa appearing to veer towards large puddles and soaking people walking on the path.

The company, Black & McDonald said the driving was "unacceptable" and reassured people that public safety was the company's number one priority.

"This is an isolated incident and the individual is no longer employed with Black & McDonald," the company.

Police thanked the company for their "quick and decisive" action.
