A toddler shot two toddlers (3) at a daycare facility in the US.

The shooting occurred at an unofficial childcare facility, at a house in Dearborn, Detroit on Wednesday where a woman was babysitting several children.

One of the victims is expected to make a full recovery after being shot in the shoulder.

The other is believed to be in a serious but stable condition.

Dearborn police chief Ronald Haddad said the loaded gun used in the shooting was found in a nightstand at the house.

"There were weapons in proximity to where kids are and it's totally unacceptable to me," he said.

There were a number of other children in the house at the time.

WXYZ, an ABC-affiliated TV station, is reporting that the round struck and passed through one toddler and then hit a second child.

Investigations are continuing into the incident.
