Teen gunman 'shot his dad dead before carrying out shooting at primary school'

A teenager shot his father dead before carrying out a shooting at a primary school, leaving two children and a female teacher injured.

The shooting occurred at a primary school in South Carolina, the Sheriff's Office said.

It is understood that two children and a female teacher were injured in the shooting, according to local reports.

A local coroner has now reported a male victim discovered dead as the father of the teenage shooter.

The alleged shooter has been taken into custody, The Greenville News reported.

Police units from multiple law enforcement agencies made their way to the scene which was described as an "emergency situation".

The elementary school has 286 students, aged up to 12 years of age.
