A sinkhole which swallowed two homes in Florida last month is growing, officials have said.

Pasco County authorities said a large chunk of the hole's edge has collapsed, leading to two more homes in the Tampa suburb of Land O'Lakes being condemned.

The sinkhole, which opened up July 14, is now about 260ft in diameter.

Specialist crews have brought in earth to stabilise the banks. Once this task has been completed, workers hope to remove debris.

Trucks are scheduled to bring in boulders to help secure one side of the sinkhole in order to allow a small barge to be brought in.

Authorities hope to create a boat ramp so they can work from the barge, which will float on water in the sinkhole.
