Man jailed for 16 years after he admits to torturing and killing 21 cats

A man has been jailed for 16 years after he pleaded guilty to torturing and killing 21 cats.

Robert Farmer (26) pleaded guilty to 21 felony counts of animal cruelty and one count each of misdemeanor battery and being under the influence.

The Californian man even lured some of the animal's from their owners homes in the San Jose neighbourhood of Cambrian Park, before he would torture and kill them.

He was arrested  in October 2015 after he was found asleep in a car park in his car, with a dead cat in the vehicle.

Upon further inspection, police found a hunting knife, fur and blood in his car.

The New York News reports that Farmer will not be allowed within 100 yards of Cambrian Park, he will also not be permitted to own or care for an animal for ten years after he is released from prison.
