Witnesses have been sharing their stories of the horror shooting in Las Vegas that has left 58 dead and more than 500 injured.

One female witness told CNN that everyone was told to "hit the floor".

"Everyone was literally just laying on top of each other, trying to get out of the way. The shots just kept coming."

She explained that they were trying to leave "but there was a man there and he was all bloody and unconscious".

"We ran and everybody is hiding everywhere, they are hiding under the bleachers. Everyone is telling us to 'run as fast as you can'.

"My husband and I ran out toward my car and there were people hiding under my car for cover. There was a gentleman that was shot and he asked 'can you help me'?"

The witness said there were six people in her car ducking for cover.

A male witness told ABC News that it sounded like fireworks were going off.

There was the first volley and then the second volley and my buddy was like 'I just got hit, I got hit three times'. I just hit the ground."

He said it was "pretty much chaotic". They struggled to get their friend out of the concert venue but were then turned back because there was an active shooter.

Eventually they managed to get the injured to an ambulance but it was too late for one person.

"We got too of the guys in and basically the one guy ended up dying in my arms because he was bleeding."

He said his buddy is going to be okay.

Another eye-witness said he hid behind a table until everybody cleared.

Speaking to Fox News, the male witness said: "I went out and there were a couple of bodies there and I started loading them onto a back of a truck. One of them looked like she was dead but the others, I'm not sure."
