Family rift: Meghan sued by half-sister over Oprah interview

Meghan Markle is being sued by her half-sister over a bombshell interview she gave to Oprah Winfrey.

Samantha Markle (57) is suing Meghan over her “rags to riches” tale of her background, which she claims is untrue. In the suit, filed in Tampa, Florida, Samantha accused Meghan of a “premeditated campaign to destroy” her reputation and that of their father, Thomas Markle.

She claims Meghan (40) never worked to pay for her Northwestern college education and argues the story of her climbing through an old car’s boot was a lie.

Samantha is seeking $75,000 (€68,600) in damages after the interview allegedly “hurt sales of her autobiography”.

However, Meghan’s lawyer, Michael Kump, said: “This baseless and absurd lawsuit is just a continuation of a pattern of disturbing behaviour.”
