A new species of dinosaur, which belonged to the same family as Tyrannosaurus rex, has been discovered by scientists.

The remains of the long-snouted tyrannosaur, nicknamed Pinocchio rex, were found near the city of Ganzhou in southern China. Researchers believe the animal, which stalked the earth more than 66 million years ago, was a fearsome carnivore.

Police in the US did not make a single arrest in a prostitution sting – but say that is because they previously announced they were to live-tweet the raids.

Officers in Prince George County, Maryland, decided against giving a running commentary of the sting due to security concerns, but say the threat of it was a deterrent for men planning to solicit prostitutes. Sergeant Dave Coleman, who is in charge of the county's vice unit, said the announcement that it would live-tweet the sting "put johns on notice to not come to Prince George's County".

A sexual health information app is to have its name changed after complaints that it is culturally insensitive to Native Hawaiians.

The owner of the Hula app, Ramin Bastani, said that after learning to understand concerns of the Native Hawaiian community, he is moving forward with the name change. "We immediately engaged the community and listened with an open mind," he said. "By doing so, we gained a great respect for hula, the Hawaiian culture and its history."
