Morgue fridge for sale

New York's Office of General Services has turned to eBay in an attempt to sell off a huge, steel morgue refrigerator at a Manhattan psychiatric hospital.

Bidders are vying for the unit, but that price does not include delivery. Office of General Services spokeswoman, Heather Groll, said the agency does get unusual surplus items to sell from time to time, including barbers' chairs from prisons and police cars.


British police say a homeless man has pleaded guilty to threatening to kill Prince Harry.

The Metropolitan Police said that 30-year-old Ashraf Islam, of no fixed address, has been charged at London's Uxbridge Magistrates' Court with threatening to kill the 28-year-old prince. Police said Islam was arrested for making the threats, a day after a British soldier was killed on a London street.


Matt Smith is leaving 'Doctor Who' and will bow out in the Christmas special when he will be replaced by a new incarnation of the time lord.

Smith, who has been in the role since 2010, said it had been "an honour" to play the part. He said: "Doctor Who has been the most brilliant experience for me as an actor and a bloke."


Italy's health ministry has confirmed the country's first case of a new respiratory virus that is alarming global health officials.

The patient is a 45-year-old man recently back from a 40-day visit to Jordan. The ministry said he was in good condition and being treated for the coronavirus in a hospital in Tuscany.


A mother who defied the odds by becoming pregnant with her third set of twins has given birth to girls.

Karen Rodger and husband Colin from Renfrewshire have welcomed Rowan and Isla into their family at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow. The couple already have four boys and were told it was a 500,000-1 chance that Mrs Rodger's third pregnancy would be twins.


A 45-year-old man in Connecticut, America, has been accused of posing as a member of One Direction to entice young girls into performing sex acts.

According to prosecutors, John Eastman used the screen name Harry.Styles888 and used pictures of the singer on his computer to convince children he was the star. He is being held on bail of $500,000.
