Social media campaign shows real people behind the political troubles
Jewish and Arab people are taking to social media to protest against the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. During a recent march against the rocket attacks on Gaza, over 300 protesters chanted "Jews and Arabs refuse to be enemies".
That chant inspired a hashtag, and friends, families and lovers are sharing pictures of themselves under it.
Sulome Anderson (left) added her story to her photo, writing: "I know a man who took pictures of the landscape… and not of the face of the one he loved… My mother is Jewish. My father is Palestinian. I am their face." The campaign has a Facebook page of the same name, started by an Israeli man Abraham Gutman.
Not everyone is pleased with the campaign - Gutman told the Huffington Post it has been "hard to open our accounts" due to "hateful comments".
