Four killed, hundreds wounded as Yemenis fire on crowd
SECURITY forces killed four people, including a 15-year-old boy, and wounded hundreds of others in pre-dawn clashes in the troubled Yemeni capital of Sanaa yesterday.
And a 12-year-old youth died during anti-government demonstrations in the city of Mukalla, witnesses said.
The assault with gunfire and tear gas was the toughest yet by the Yemeni government in a month of protests aimed at unseating President Ali Abdullah Saleh's 32-year rule. At least 35 people have lost their lives in the month of unrest in this poverty-stricken country, a neighbour of oil giant Saudi Arabia.
