PALESTINIAN fishermen were left surprised but pleased after hundreds of Mobula Ray fish were found washed up on a Gaza beach.

Over 200 fish were found washed up on the Gaza City beach yesterday.

Ray, which can fetch a premium of $1.50 per kilo on the market, have been in short supply in the waters off Gaza for the last five years.

Local fishermen were quick to capitalise on their good fortune and carted the fish to the local market.
