A former taxi driver from northern Virginia included on the FBI's list of most-wanted terrorists has been detained in Somalia, a US official has said.
Liban Mohamed, 29, is charged with providing material support to the terrorist groups al-Qaida and al-Shabab, and is one of about 30 people on the terrorist list.
The FBI believes he left the US in 2012. He was placed on the list about a month ago.
Lawyer Gadeir Abbas, who has represented Mohamed's family on separate matters, declined to comment.
