Man held over fake $500 tip
Malaysian police have arrested a Lebanese man allegedly carrying fake currency with a face value of $66m (€46m) after he tipped a hotel staff member with a $500 (€348) note, an official said yesterday.
The largest US note in wide circulation is a $100 bill. But police found bundles of $1m, $100,000 and $500 notes in the man's hotel room in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. The man could be charged for possessing counterfeit money and, if found guilty, face up to 10 years in jail.
