Man critical after 'freak' hanging

A man was left in a critical condition after accidentally hanging himself on a noose that had been set up as a Halloween prop at a nightclub.

The 25-year-old was taken to Milton Keynes Hospital after the incident at the Buckinghamshire town's Pink Punters club. The owner of the club, which attracts gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, said it was a "freak accident".

The confrontation occurred at Cruise's Beverly Hills home when the actor and his family were out. The neighbour was taken into custody for trespassing and treated at a hospital for the stun gun shock.

Madonna booed for touting Obama

Madonna was booed and triggered a walkout by several concert-goers after she touted US President Barack Obama on her MDNA Tour in New Orleans.

Madonna asked during the performance: "Who's registered to vote?" She added: "I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama." Her comments drew boos from the crowd for touting Mr Obama over Republican Mitt Romney.

Russian ship with crew of 11 missing

A Russian ship with 11 people on board has gone missing in stormy seas off the nation's Pacific Coast.

The Emergency Situations Ministry said it received a signal yesterday from an emergency buoy of the freighter Amurskaya in the Sea of Okhotsk. The ship was en route from the coastal town of Neran to Feklistov Island in the Sea of Okhotsk.
