COUNCIL chiefs in a Majorca resort have ordered the closure of the bar where an Irish holidaymaker was filmed performing lewd acts on men for a cheap cocktail.

Police say they have identified Playhouse club in Magaluf as the bar where the seedy video was taken during a night out organised by Carnage Magaluf.

The owners of the bar have been hit with a €55,000 fine which they have been told they and British-run firm Carnage must pay between them.

Both Playhouse and Carnage, which regularly hosts bar crawls and parties in the Spanish island, have also been told they must shut for a year.

A council spokesman said: "I think the message is clear. The town hall won't tolerate activities of the kind featured in the video under any circumstances."

Manuel Onieva, mayor of the municipality of Calvia which covers Magaluf, ordered a police investigation earlier this month after the video of an 18-year-old tourist performing sex acts on men inside a bar went viral.

Carnage plans to appeal. The owner of Playhouse, which is run under a company name, could not be contacted.
