Actress Nicole Kidman's father has died in Singapore, authorities say.
Tan Tock Seng Hospital said psychologist Tony Kidman was taken there today but would not release any other details.
The University of Technology in Sydney, where Kidman had worked as a researcher and practitioner for 43 years, confirmed his death.
He was reportedly in Singapore to visit his other daughter, Antonia, and her family.
Singapore police did not identify him by name, but said in a statement that a man in his 80s was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead.
They said they were investigating it as an "unnatural death", meaning it was not a result of illness or disease. Media reports said he suffered a fall.
Nicole, who appeared in this year's Grace Of Monaco, has two daughters with husband Keith Urban, and a son and daughter with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
Antonia, who has six children, has been a television presenter and producer.
University vice-chancellor Attila Brungs said: "Tony has contributed greatly - as a colleague, as a researcher, and as a health practitioner. Tony will be missed by all at UTS."
