Kanye West stops New York show for 'family emergency'
Kanye West had to abruptly cut short his appearance at a music festival in New York City due to an "emergency".
It happened while the hip hop artist was performing at The Meadows Music and Arts Festival at Citi Field in Queens Sunday night.
Witnesses told the Daily News that West told the crowd he was "sorry" there was a "family emergency" and had to "stop the show".
The Meadows Music and Arts Festival sent out a tweet saying: "Due to an emergency, Kanye West had to end his performance early."
The two-day festival which ended on Sunday included performances from J Cole, Empire of the Sun, Pretty Lights and others.
A spokesman for his wife, Kim Kardashian West, said that she had been held up at gunpoint in her hotel room in Paris, where she is attending the city's Fashion Week.
Ina Treciokas told CNN: "Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers. She is badly shaken but physically unharmed."
