Honduras forms diplomatic ties with China after severing relations with Taiwan

The announcement comes amid rising tensions between Beijing and the US.

Honduras has established diplomatic ties with China after breaking off relations with Taiwan, which is increasingly isolated and now recognised by only 13 sovereign states.
