A gunman has shot dead three people in New York before killing himself.

The man opened fire minutes after midnight, local time, in a three-storey building in Brooklyn.

Police say all his victims were men and knew the shooter and each other.

The victims were found on the second and third floors. The shooter was discovered on the roof.

One person was also wounded on the arm and is stable in hospital.

Police do not know what the motive for the shootings was. They are investigating a possible link to a music band.
