Zoo’s first tiger cub born in 17 years drowns
The two-week old cub was found on Saturday morning by the edge of the pool in the tiger's enclosure.
A spokesperson for London Zoo has confirmed that the cub had drowned.
The cub first hit headlines when the birth, the first in 17 years at the zoo, was captured on the CCTV cameras and shared online. The clip was reuploaded to video sharing website YouTube multiple times.
The keepers are currently trying to establish what happened as the mother was not expected totake the cub outside so early.
Curator Malcolm Fitzpatrick stated "We're heartbroken by what's happened." and described the incident as "devastating."
