WATCH: Moment lorry crashes into queue of traffic, killing one and leaving another with life-changing injuries
This is the horrifying moment a lorry crashed into a queue of traffic causing a fatal motorway pile-up which killed a father-of-three and left another man with life-changing injuries.
The dash-cam footage was released by the police to show the moment a distracted HGV driver ploughed into the back of queuing traffic.
It was released with the approval of the victims' families.
The incident left father-of-three Mark Done (51) dead and a grandfather Paul Johnson (61) needing 24-hour care as a result of his injuries.
The driver of the lorry Peter Tootle (61) has been jailed for two and a half years for dangerous driving causing death.
Constable Darran Doyle, from Merseyside Police, said: "The families of those most affected by this terrible tragedy have agreed for this footage to be released to show the devastating impact of the collision."
The incident took place on the M53 motorway on the Wirral Peninsula in England.
