Video: Pair guilty of Antigua 'honeymoon killings'

THE families of a British couple killed on honeymoon in Antigua said they would never come to terms with their deaths after two men were convicted of the "senseless" murders.

Kaniel Martin (23) and Avie Howell (20) showed no remorse after they were found guilty of shooting dead Ben and Catherine Mullany in a botched robbery at their five-star chalet on Antigua on July 27, 2008.

Mr Mullany's parents, Cynlais and Marilyn, and his wife's parents, David and Rachel Bowen, broke down in tears as the verdicts were read out.

"Ben and Cath will live in our hearts forever," they said. The couple, both aged 31 and from Pontardawe, south Wales, had married on July 12, 2008.

The unanimous guilty verdicts came three years to the day of the 'honeymoon killings', after Mr Mullany and his wife were both shot once in the back of the head at the Cocos Hotel. It was the final night of their two-week honeymoon. (© Daily Telegraph)
