Three Romanian men arrested in Britain as part of probe into human trafficking and sexual exploitation
Three Romanian men have been arrested as part of an investigation into human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
Officers searched an address in Longworth Street, Preston, Lancashire, and discovered four women who are believed to have been brought to the UK from Romania.
The men, aged 33, 35 and 42, are being questioned in custody, while the women are being spoken to by specially trained officers.
Insp Paul McLernon, of Lancashire Constabulary, said: "This area of policing is complex and identifying human trafficking/modern slavery can be difficult.
"In many cases organised crime groups are behind the trafficking of people into the UK and they will target some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
"Today's activity shows our commitment to tackling this issue and we want to encourage more victims to come forward knowing that there is help out there for them.
"I would urge anyone who suspects that someone is being treated in this way to contact 101 and help them."
