'The walls pee back' - German train station tackles people who urinate in public
People who urinate in public places are about to face a backlash in Germany.
A Cologne railway station has hit back at people who urinate in public by issuing a warning that “the walls pee back”.
Authorities grew tired of the unpleasant stench emanating from the station’s car park, which had become a popular spot for people wishing to urinate.
"We've covered a 30-metre stretch of wall with a special kind of paint that's extremely hydrophobic," a Deutsche Bahn spokesperson told Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger newspaper.
"It means any stream of liquid aimed at the wall will bounce back off at roughly the same angle."
Hamburg's St Pauli party district adopted the initiative back in March.
