A delivery driver working for Tesco has been accused of sending sexual and vulgar text messages to a woman after dropping off an order at her home.

The woman, from London,‎ posted text messages she received after the delivery to social media.

The messages began: “Hie? I delivered shopping to you this evening my name is Joe.

And continued...

The woman contacted Tesco with her complaint, claiming the texts were sexual harassment.

She said: “So last night I had a Tesco delivery like I have on and off for five years.

“Your driver stored my personal details and texted me this disgusting nonsense then woke me up calling me.

“This is sexual harassment and I am going to have to go to the police, what I want to know is what will I get from this?

“A valid customer is now too scared to have home deliveries.

“How many other women have received harassing texts from your staff? Is there no control over privacy details anymore?”

Tesco have apologised for the incident, saying that the driver was not a Tesco employee, and was an agency driver working for a separate company.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “This behaviour is completely unacceptable. We took immediate action to ensure this agency driver will never work for Tesco again and are in contact with the customer. We are extremely sorry for any upset caused.”
