Greek police say fugitive terrorist Christodoulos Xiros was planning a major raid on an Athens prison in order to free other convicted terrorists.

Xiros was arrested on Saturday near Athens. Police say his safe house contained extensive notes on approaching, and safely getting away from, Korydallos prison. The house also contained rifles, explosives and grenade launchers.

Xiros was serving six life terms for his role in the Marxist group November 17, which killed 23 people.
