Teaching assistant escapes jail sentence after 'having sex with minor 50 times and telling him she was pregnant'
A 15-year-old schoolboy has told of how a teaching assistant has left him 'scarred for life' after having sex with him 50 times and telling him she was pregnant.
The boy who cannot be named as he is underage had regular unprotected sex with Caroline Berriman, who escaped a jail sentence last week.
The woman admitted two counts of sexual activity with a child.
Berriman contacted the boy on Facebook and asked for his phone number.
The court heard they began a sexual relationship five months after meeting.
The pupil told The Sun that the couple became so close that Berriman's daughter referred to him as 'Dad'.
"We would call and text each other all the time and it got more and more into a sort of relationship.
"Then she started ringing me on weekends, asking if I was going round to hers.
"It slowly got more serious.
"It got to a point where her daughter was calling me “dad”.
"I used to say to her “I’m not, I’m your mum’s friend," he said.
Berriman was handed down a two-year suspended prison sentence and given 250 hours of community service.
She was also barred from ever contacting the teenager again.
She also quit her job at Abraham Moss Community School in Oldham, Manchester.
The headmistress at Abraham Moss Community School in Manchester said that safeguarding pupils was the school's number one priority.
"This person was suspended as soon as the allegations came to light and no longer works at the school," she said.
