Six people - including two children - killed in gas blast at five-storey apartment building in Russian city
At least six people, including two children, have been killed in a gas blast at a five-storey apartment building in a central Russian city.
Nine other people were injured in the explosion in Yaroslavl, 160 miles (250km) north-east of Moscow, emergency services said.
The blast, which happened before dawn on Tuesday, destroyed five apartments and damaged 20 others.
All residents of the building were evacuated - a total of about 130 people. It was unclear whether all residents had been accounted for or whether any were missing.
Most apartment buildings in Russia are supplied with natural gas for cooking. The cause of Tuesday's blast was under investigation.
