Shocking footage: Man (30) attacks woman with acid for 'meddling' in relationship Newsdesk Newsdesk

A betting shop worker had acid throw in her face because a man felt she was stopping him from pursing a relationship with one of her friends.

A 30-year-old is being held by police in the Tuscan city of Livorno after he was arrested for allegedly throwing acid into the face of the woman late on Sunday.

CCTV footage in the betting shop where she worked captured the incident, and shows several men fled the building as others rush to help the 55-year-old victim.

The suspect, who has been named locally, is thought to have staged the attack because he felt the woman was hampering his efforts to start a romantic relationship with one of her friends.

According to reports from local news outlets, the victim suffered a minor injury to one of her eyes and received burns across her face and neck.

Despite the serious nature of the attack however, it is understood that the women's skin and eye should heal within 25 days.
