Sarkozy 'to run again in 2017 election'
Nicolas Sarkozy (right) has been left with "no choice" but to make an audacious bid to become President of France for the second time in five years' time, it has been claimed.
Bruno Le Maire, his former agriculture minister, is said to have heard the former head of state claim "moral" reasons for returning. This is despite the fact that the 57-year-old conservative, who lost the presidential election in May after five years in power, is facing corruption inquiries in France.
According to Mr Le Maire, who was speaking to 'Le Canard Enchaine,' Mr Sarkozy reportedly said: "Given the disastrous state in which France risks finding itself in five years' time, I will have no choice in 2017." (© Daily Telegraph, London)
