THE suspected mastermind of the Moscow airport bombing is thought to belong to an Islamist militant group in the North Caucasus.
Police are seeking information about Vitaly Razdobudko, a 32-year-old ethnic Russian man who converted to Islam.
He is a native of Russia's volatile Stavropol region, which lies around 800 miles south of Moscow, close to the Muslim internal republics of Chechnya and Dagestan.
Some sources have suggested he may also have personally taken part in the attack, which left 35 people dead.
Family members reported Mr Razdobudko and his wife missing last November and he has been on a federal wanted list since.
Russia has yet to officially name the group it believes was responsible for the attack. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
