Police in hunt for escaped mental home patient who is 'known to be violent'
Police have begun a search for a mental health patient who has failed to return to a hospital unit.
Scotland Yard said that Asad Taibzadah, 32, who is known to be violent, left St Ann's Hospital in Haringey, north London, on an unescorted leave on Friday morning. He was due to arrive back at 10.45am but has absconded.
He had been detained under the Mental Health Act.
Scotland Yard warned the public are warned not to approach him but to call 999.
Mr Taibzadah is of south Asian appearance, 5ft 6ins tall, of medium build and has shoulder-length black hair.
He was last seen wearing black trousers, a grey jacket, black jumper and brown shoes.
He is believed to have links to the Kings Cross and Harrow districts of London.
