Oh, Bother! Man arrested after hijacking Winnie the Pooh toy car

Sarah Jane Murphy

A man has been arrested for hijacking a Winnie the Pooh toy car from a supermarket after a two-month police investigation.

A labour worker who confessed to the crime in Belarus said he was drunk and did not remember where he abandoned the distinctive toy car.

CCTV footage of the incident was released by Minsk police after the crime was committed in May.

The video clearly shows a man walking down the supermarket aisle, and casually climbing onto the Winnie the Pooh toy car.

He slowly manoeuvres the car towards the exit door and is then seen driving it across the supermarket car park.

Police went to great lengths to solve the crime, making a public appeal for information regarding the man in the video and publishing screenshots on their website.

Unfortunately the vehicle has not been recovered.
