Man 'shouting Allahu Akbar' assaults seven including three police officers in Toulouse

A man has been arrested after he reportedly stabbed a number of people including police officers in the French city of Toulouse, according to reports.

Local media is reporting that the man attacked innocent civilians while shouting Allahu Akbar. It is believed that he assaulted four people.

Police were called to the scene and three of them were injured during the arrest.

According to La Dépêche , the three policemen on the patrol were injured "on the tibia, on the shoulder or on the cervical".

The man burst into tears when he was wrestled to the ground, according to the Daily Mail.

Two of the shoppers had to be taken to hospital for treatment but no one was fatally injured in the incident.

It is believed the man had been released from a psychiatric hospital in April.
