Man cuts his own throat in courtroom dock in Wales while awaiting sentencing

It is still unclear as to how the defendant obtained the weapon

A man has cut his throat in the dock in a courtroom in Haverfordwest in south Wales.

The man was awaiting sentencing for a sex assault to which he had pleaded guilty.

Lukasz Robert Pawlowski (33), of Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, pleaded guilty to grabbing and kissing a shop assistant, BBC reports.

Emergency services including two ambulances and an air ambulance rushed to the scene of the incident which occurred shortly after 10am.

It is still unclear as to how Pawlowski obtained the weapon.

Witnesses described how the man lost a lot of blood in the incident and lost consciousness, but is now awake.
