Kate Middleton crowns Bradley Wiggins king at sports awards, as Paidi O Se remembered
THE pregnant Duchess of Cambridge crowned cycling hero Bradley Wiggins BBC Sports Personality of the Year as she made her first public appearance since being treated in hospital for severe morning sickness.
Kate Middleton, who did not speak while presenting the award, looked on in a dark green dress as Wiggins told his children Ben and Bella "you can go to bed now".
Meanwhile, Paidi O Se was remembered during the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards 2012 at ExCeL Arena, London.
The Kerry star was one of a number of sports star who passed away this year who were remembered in a video montage during the star-studded ceremony.
Ulster rugby star Nevin Spence was also remembered after he died alongside his father and brother in a farmyard accident in September.
Among the star-studded attendance was boxer Katie Taylor who was pipped for the BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year by sprinter Usain Bolt.
