CHRIS Nathaniel, the celebrity agent who helped broker a business deal between footballer Ashley Cole and rapper Jay-Z has been arrested as part of a murder investigation.
Mr Nathaniel, 39, was arrested as part of the investigation into the stabbing of teenager Danny O’Shea in East London in December.
Mr Nathaniel, who was a director of Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand’s youth foundation, was bailed along with a 33-year-old friend.
He is one of 11 people who have so far been arrested in connection with the murder which took place on December 2.
Mr O’Shea died after being knifed in the neck by a mob outside his mother’s home.
His stepfather, Jim Blewitt, tried in vain to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr Nathaniel is head of the NVA Entertainment Group and boasts many connections to showbusiness and sporting personalities.
Last year he brokered a deal between Jay-Z and Chelsea star Ashley Cole to open a London branch of the rapper’s 40/40 restaurant and bar franchise.
He also claims to have business connections with England captain John Terry and the World’s fastest man Usain Bolt.
He was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Monday as he arrived back in Britain from a trip to the United States.
DCI Larry Smith from the homicide and serious crime command appealed for witnesses to the murder to come forward.
He said: “We know there were people in the area at the time of Danny’s murder and we would urge those people to come forward and help solve this crime.”
