‘I would get arrested if I unzipped that dress’: Prince Phillip’s latest gaffe
PRINCE Philip left royal well-wishers aghast once again during a tour in London with a crude comment about a woman's dress.
The Duke of Edinburgh used his characteristic humour with members of the public in south London as part of the Queen's jubilee visit.
When the prince met Hannah Jackson, 25, who was wearing an eye-catching pillar-box red dress with a zip running down the front, he told her: "I would get arrested if I unzipped that dress."
His comment stunned those who gathered to welcome the couple to the Queen's Gardens.
Miss Jackson, who works for the local council, said: "I'm not sure really what to say. We were talking about the event generally, it was quite a busy day and I was in the formal line up."
She referred questions to the council's press office.
The Queen had been met by more than 6,000 schoolchildren, who waved flags and sang God Save The Queen.
Prince Philip was on good form and joked with the crowds. He regularly claims the headlines on Royal occasions with choice words.
Earlier this year, he asked a 60-year-old man how many people he had knocked over on his mobility scooter.
