French nuclear explosion kills one person and injures four
An explosion at a French nuclear plant has killed at least one person while several others have been injured.
The explosion happened at the Marcoule site in Langedoc, in Southern France, officials confirmed.
According to local reports, the site is involved in the decommissioning of nuclear facilities and operates using a pressurized water reactor which produces tritium.
The site is used by French nuclear giant Areva which produces MOX fuel.
The process involves plutonium and uranium.
The French government said there are no radioactive leaks following the explosion.
